The big 2-9.

On Sunday, I celebrated my birthday in very low-key fashion. Because it was also Super Bowl Sunday, the game took priority - which is fine with me. Mr. P. and I made tons of yummy football foods (sausage cheese dip, little smokies) and a big vat of chili in preparation for the game. Mentor/partner and his family came over to watch the game with us. A good time was had by all.

Of course, before the game, we had major doggie drama. The Q is just getting over a major case of worms (yuk), so we were dealing with that. And to make things worse, Bela got into some weeds in our backyard and had an allergic reaction. Her face swelled up and she looked like a sharpei. Poor baby. We gave her some Benadryl and called the emergency vet. They said to keep an eye on her and if we didn't see a difference within the next 40 minutes, to take her in to the vet. *sigh* Luckily, the swelling went down and she fell asleep, so we were good to go.

I am happy for the Steelers - especially Jerome Bettis. However, overall, I was ill-impressed...with the game, the commercials (other than the cute little "streaker" commercial), and most certainly, with the half-time show. The sound was crap, the vocals were crap, it was just...crap. So there you go.

Next year, the big 3-0. Wow.

On a different note, go over and wish my girl, Amanda, a happy birthday!
